2 Chronicles 7:12-15 tells us how God responds to His people when we humble ourselves, pray and turn away from our sins. It points out the fact that humility and prayer are powerful forces in the life of the believer. Solomon demonstrated this when he, through prayer, asked God for wisdom in leading the people. However, sometimes, we get burdened down under the weight of our trials, and instead of humbling ourselves, we ask God to take away or destroy our enemies. Solomon’s example is one that we certainly should embrace. We should ask God for the wisdom to know how to pray and what to ask him for in our prayers. When we humble ourselves and turn to God, our prayer will be Lord help me to live like you as I live in this world of trials and tribulations.
