We are living in a time when hope seems to be eluding us. We deal with various issues in our daily lives that are discouraging, disappointing, and for some defeating. We deal with personal illness, the threat of losing our freedom, and worst of all, we have some political leaders who are determined to take us back to the days of Jim Crow. But in the midst of all this chaos, there is still hope. It has been said that as long as Jesus is alive there is hope. That is certainly a true statement since God sent Jesus His only begotten Son to save mankind from sin and death. Paul wrote in I Thessalonians 1:3, "Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father.” This is good news because there is always hope in the love of God. Therefore, as the children of God, we have the blessed assurance that no matter how dire living in this world may be, we can always look to Jesus for peace, and we can truly "Keep hope alive."
