The Psalmist wrote, "'God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble" (Psalm 46:1). Living in a world and a nation that is full of sin and chaos, we worry about our safety and security. We worry about the quality of the air we breathe; we worry about the cleanliness of the water we drink, and now we even worry about the threat of losing our freedom if the wrong person becomes our next president in November of 2024. But based on the words of the Psalmist, we have refuge in our Lord. He is truly our shelter in the storms that are raging in our lives, He is our strength when we are weak and weary, He offers us safety in His pavilion, and He is always present even in times of trouble.
