For most of us, when we hear the word famine, an extreme lack of food comes to our mind. We visualize people who are starving from hunger. While these kinds of famines do happen, it is not a surprise that famine is a recurring theme in the Bible. In this sermon, famine is observed from a spiritual perspective. When believers live according to the ways of the world, disregard God, and live in habitual sin, they are in a spiritual famine. They are living in darkness, and if they die in their unrighteous state, they will suffer the consequence of losing their soul and living in a place of severe punishment forever.
